| twas the week before christmas... and i swear i have never felt busier! however, i can't complain because i am busy with very exciting things! TONIGHT/visiting with allie and kellie. i met these two ladies while working at the movie theatre. we have been friends for 5 years. they are my rock! seriously, there is nothing but good times, laughs, hugs, and honesty between the 3 of us.i cant show my appreciation to them enough!
THURSDAY/stephenie and kristian's rehersal dinner. steph and kristian and getting married on december 20th! i am so happy and excited for them. these guys have been together for over 5 years, and they are finally sealing the deal! i cannot wait to exerience their wedding!
FRIDAY/christmas with my girls. from l to r: karolyn, stephenie, amber, and me (amy). friday is also the night before steph's wedding, so i am sure we will be all giddy with nervous excitement. i have known these fabulous ladies for over 10 years. we have been through so much together; middle school, high school, prom, falling in love, getting our hearts broken, weddings, babies (for steph at least!), laughs, tears, screams, then laughs again. i dont know what my heart would do without them.
SATURDAY/stephenie and kristian's wedding! its going to be a great day, though it may be FREEZING! the PNW is experiencing very odd weather for our region of the USA. its cold! like, really cold! but nevertheless! we will pose our butts off for steph's wedding photos, all with honest smiles. i am so happy for these two, they have been through so much together! this natural step for their relationship will be an honor to witness.
Then saturday leads to a day of nothing on sunday, because i am sure i am going to be exhausted. then sunday leads to monday, which is the first day of christmas week. i am sure work will be lame, but it will pass, tuesday will pass, then it will be christmas eve! and i will get to spend the day with my lovely family. RIGHT NOW/before all my plans start, i am going to go hang out with this guy. my really cute husband.
i hope everyone has a lovely christmas, remember how exciting this time of year can be! and stay warm, no matter where you are!

| I love my family... back in early august, my family got together and had a memorial party/picnic/gathering for my grandpa who passed away in june. it was so great to have relatives from all over the country come together to remember the great man my grandpa john was. he was so funny, caring and sweet, and i hope he has found comfort in the afterlife. at his memorial, i spent a lot of time with my 3 year old nephew broderick. i love him to pieces! he is such an adorable, sweet, polite, funny little guy, and i love watching him experience this life. children have such an innocent wonderment that i miss experiencing myself sometimes. here are some highlights of our time together... i miss my family. we are spread all over the states. one of my brothers, ryan, is currently in argentina for 4 months, just traveling, learning and experiencing the world. i wish we all could spend more time together. as we get older, it gets harder to come together. hopefully we will learn how to make it work. i'm sure we will. | | |
| music is awesome serisously. i have had the pleasure to attend two amazing shows in one week. foo fighters and jimmy eat world. oh so good. i have been waiting to see these two amazing bands headline a show for many, many years. everytime i had seen them in the past, they were either openers for other headliners, or part of a festival and not given enough time to rock out. both bands put out amazing sets, each making sure to show some love to older fans, all while still pleasing the newer crowds, and neither afraid to play the super hits. experiencing the foo fighters show put me back mentally to my highschool days, when i would just sit around with nothing to do, so i studied the 'the colour and the shape' cd booklet, memorizing the lyrics, wondering if dave grohl wrote 'hey johnny park' about kurt cobain (stupid thought, but thats what all the kids were sayin'). the jimmy eat world show reminded me of when i discovered a new sound of music, and how simply listening to guitar melodies, enhanced by drums and bass can give you shivers from your head to your toes. each member of both bands rocked their hearts out. i cant imagine how tiring that is! but those leading men...wow. they worked the mic, sounded pristine and rocked out so hard! i was very impressed, and thankful that they still care so much about their fans after so many years of making music. thank you dave and jim.

| so, i think a brief introduction is appropriate... i am starting this blog to have a place to post my photography. i am by no means a professional photographer (yet, ha), but i've always had it in me to strive for that...so i am slowly getting myself out there. and here is where i will do that. i'm sure, from time to time, there will be non-photography posts...but thats okay.
oh yeah, my name is amy. middle name helen, hence the url. nice to meet you. so, have patience, readers (if there are any out there!)...i'll get into the swing of things. (i didn't take the picture posted, so credit to whomever did. i found it on google. ahhh, google, i love you)
